After retirement from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), I have
started my own private investigation business Magnitude and Direction
Investigations. I bring 20 years of law enforcement investigative experience
with me to the private sector. I was assigned to the Highway Patrol Division
for five years where I worked in Yavapai, Coconino, and Maricopa Counties as
a State Trooper. I transferred to the Vehicular Crimes Unit under the Criminal
Investigations Division where I completed the remainder of my career. I
received extensive training to include over 2000 hours of collision
investigation / reconstruction training, homicide investigation, shooting
scene investigation, scene mapping with sUAS (drone), total station, GPS
measurement systems, 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, forensic
photography, CAD software, DUI investigation. I was a Drug Recognition
Expert (DRE) for 10 years. I have instructed numerous classes at police
academies statewide. I am a P. O. S. T. Certified Driving Instructor. I have
instructed numerous law enforcement officers the Precision Intervention
Technique and the Vehicle Intervention Plan (utilized for wrong way drivers).
I was an instructor for the use of the Grappler

system at DPS.

While assigned to the VCU I investigated and assisted with hundreds of
collision investigations and reconstructions. I wrote and implemented the
lesson plan for the Regional Advanced Collision Teams (ReACT), statewide.
This assisted with the Traffic Incident Management System by clearing
the collision scenes expediently. I have testified as an expert for collision
reconstruction in numerous counties in Arizona.
As I bring the training and experience with me, I continue to attend training
and develop new and innovative ways to approach these complex cases.
Now it is up to the client to pick the direction they want to go. I can assist
with the velocity needed to complete the case in a cost effective, timely
manner.
